Exact! Pre-BENT Car Brake Line Sets
These are produced exclusively for Clark's Corvair Parts® to our original samples (NOT to be confused with line sets with inaccurate lines from specialty "BRAKE LINE
COMPANIES"). People that used to bend their own say "never again" after using our Clark lines. Even if your lines look perfect, it is possible that moisture has started to rust
thru from the inside. Don't risk brake line failure with 50+ year old lines.
CLARK SETS are produced from original style steel tubing & should last 20-40 years! We also offer stainless lines for 1963-69 Cars only.
PRE-BENT STAINLESS Brake Lines
Regular steel lines are good for 20-40 years so I'm not sure stainless are really needed; Stainless will not rust, they look great & are stronger. Any lines listed with armor
(both regular & stainless) have stainless armor. To prevent galling, all nuts are plated steel – not stainless. Even though our lines have the best possible flared ends, new
brass "T's"/fittings should be ordered because the old brass "cone" in the "T's" gets distorted by the line. Regular steel lines give a little, but the stainless lines are so stiff
that they will not give so the brass "T" must be perfect. Even with new "T's", you may get a slight leak; we suggest the Line Fitting Sealer which can also be used with regular
steel lines.
Fitting Sealer (includes Instructions): C4500 4 oz.
BRASS "T's" – Page 150
Notes:
1. The long line from the front to the rear of the car is formed as one complete line (like the original) BUT in order to ship the line we put about a 10" diameter
(180 degree) bend in the middle (it is straight in this area anyway so you can easily bend it back to straight).
2. SOME lines require removal of gas tank or rear suspension members.
3. ALL SETS include ALL steel lines including master cylinder line (except as noted for 67-69) and are READY TO INSTALL!
4. Weights listed may be high. You will ONLY BE CHARGED FOR ACTUAL SHIPPING.
5. "ARMORED" original on 69's. 6 of the steel lines that were exposed to the wheels came on the 69's with a wire "ARMOR" wrapped around them. The "ARMOR" line sets
also fit 67-68 and the 2 front and 3 rear ones ALSO FIT 65-66.
6. Line sets Do Not Include brass "T's". These are important – see page 150.
BRAKE HOSE WARNING EARLY 1961 FC's
Chevy found the front brake hose on the early 1961 FC could rub the back of the rim w/ full steering. They offered a clip that attached to the hose & a spring helped pull it.
The brake hose bracket on later 61's & 62-65 FC was welded on differently to keep the hose out of the way. If you are replacing the hoses on an "early" 61 FC, thread hose
securely into wheel cylinder & then twist hose slightly before installing it into the bracket. Next, turn the steering full lock in both directions to insure it doesn't come close to
the rim, tire or frame. If you have the old clip & spring, you may want to continue to use those. See sketches below.
