Standard Trans. – "CLUTCH" is sometimes used to mean "CLUTCH DISC" but can also mean the whole combination
of flywheel, clutch disc & pressure plate.
Torque Converter?? – P.G. See P.G. Section pages 133-135B
In an automatic the flex plate and TORQUE CONVERTER take the place of the flywheel,
clutch disc, and pressure plate. DON'T CALL IT A FLYWHEEL!
Special Note: Flywheels & pressure plates can and do get put on various year cars. When ordering, just be sure they are
matched as shown. 1964-69 gives better overall performance.
ORIGINAL FLYWHEEL (clutch surface up) PRESSURE PLATE (before bolting)
TO USE 1964-69 (Combination on 1960-63): A. Use 1964-69 throw out bearing C33C
B. Use CU3214 for pivot ball stud
C. Re-adjust clutch per normal
TO USE 1960-63 (Combination on 1964-69): A. Use 1960-63 throw out bearing C1141B
B. Put 2-3 flat washers under 64-69 ball stud
or transfer 1960-63 style (CU3213)
C. Re-adjust clutch per normal
A MUST
Replacing flywheel, clutch and/or pressure plate? Be sure to replace these items to keep oil and gear oil off clutch.
Also don't forget the clutch pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft.
