Some personal remembrances from the "EARLY YEARS"
Getting an envelope (from an attorney in Buffalo) and wondering
if we were doing something illegal! (He was our rst order).
Printing our rst 200 catalogs and assembling them in my
grandparents kitchen.
Asking our Landlord what a "COD" was (while a customer waited
on the phone).
Explaining to people why our bed was nearly 3 feet off the oor
(better height to package parts on).
Taking packages to UPS terminal each morning on the way to
work.
Wondering when UPS would ever ship to all 48 continental
states.
Our cat hiding in boxes and surprising the help.
Joan falling asleep around midnight while writing a shipping
label.
Not "seeing" our TV for over 4 years (was covered by car covers)
and the surprise from people who'd worked for us for years and
didn't think we owned a TV!
• The mess when 20 carpets drying on the new hardtop driveway
stuck to the tar!
• Wondering "what have we gotten ourselves into"?!
